If his HANNSpree Ten Kate Honda team-mate, Fabien Foret, is one of the most experienced riders in the paddock, Florian Marino probably has the least experience – and, at just 17, he’s one of the youngest, too. The Frenchman moves up to the category for 2011 after a full season in the European Superstock 600 series, in which he finished as runner-up, taking three wins and four other podium finishes. That result earned him a wildcard World Supersport ride with the Ten Kate team in last year’s final round at Magny-Cours where he finished 12th. The French teenager has been racing since the age of ten however, starting off in junior motocross before joining the Red Bull Rookies series in 2008. Marino, from Cannes in the south of France, doesn’t turn 18 until June 2011, and, despite no pressure on him in his full debut season, the affable youngster would love nothing more than to step up to a World Supersport podium before then.
